Are suckerfish bad for trout population?

I noticed a bunch of suckers in my favorite fly fishing creek. I was wondering if they are bad for the ecosystem, such as maybe eating trout eggs. If so, I will go spear and kill them (but not eat them like some people do). Anyway, does anybody know if they affect the trout population in any way? Thanks in advance for answers...
