Can someone explain to me the colonization of Brazil?
Brazil got colonized by the Portuguese. Their were Natives in Brazil but not as much when it was compare to other Native tribes. Most natives in South America lived in the West coast which is now modern day Chile. Since Brazil lack Natives to use them as labor the Portuguese transported many Africans. Many of the Africans work in sugar productions and in the fields.During the 16 century most of its exports was sugar than during the 18 century it became gold and diamonds. They got Freedom when Napoleons army was going to take over Portugal In Europe. So the Portuguese royal family moved from Lisbon Portugal to Brazil. Eventually when Napoleon got defeated the royal family went back. The king told his son if you want to become king why not make Brazil your Kingdom? So the Prince did and declare Brazil independent from Portugal and it bacame the Empire of Brazil.
