How much of a long term impact do you think humans will have on the planet?

hypothetically, if we carry out our full potential to colonize & populate the world with more people, pets, and livestock, while creating a generous sized styrofoam and plastic layer in the earth's outer crust and a nice dose of chemical pollution to the air and water over the next 1,000 years...and then we all die from a serious of genetically superior viruses. between 1 and a million years, how fast would the earth recover from the damage we caused?
