Is Walnut Creek, Cali a nice place to live?

Of course im going to visit the place but i wanted to get you guys' idea of the area. I plan on moving around that area for college i heard its a pretty safe area to live in. I plan on having a roommate or living by myself. So..... You guys like Walnut? =]
